My husband was working full time and we were getting by, but we could have used some extra money. Especially when the maternity ran out. And besides, the maternity wasn’t much at all to begin with.

I didn’t have a lot of skills. I didn’t have a university education, all I had done up until getting pregnant was administrative work. My husband was, is a machinist, but he’s been in and out of work more often than we’d both like. Especially lately with the economy going into a nose dive. So we’re not rich, we’ve been getting by but raising 2 daughters now is not cheap as I’m sure you know.

So as I said, a few years ago, mostly out of boredom, but also to help the family finances I started to look around and see if I could find some work that I could do from home. At that time Jeff, my husband, was working steadily so I wasn’t in a big need to work but wanted some extra spending money for us. But what I learned in my search for home based jobs, was that there are a lot of scams out there. I got taken in by a few. It took me months, actually probably closer to a year before I found something that was really legitimate.

Now I just want to warn you. Please be realistic if you’re looking for work from home opportunities. I don’t know of any that are get rich programs. Those ones I’m pretty certain are all scams as I’ve been taken in by a few of them. When I started to look for something that was more realistic, that’s when I had success. I’ve earned as much as $500 a day, though those days don’t happen very often. Usually I earn a little over $100 a day that I work. This really helps, and besides, at my last admin job, I was only making $25k a year, so if I work steadily this year I’ll make over $36k which is great for us.

And this kind of money I’m able to to do in around 4 hours of work per day. This is great, because it gives me the time I need for my 2 girls. And for the last few months my hubby Jeff has been out of work so we’ve been relying on my income. Though now he’s started to look into this too.

So I hope that from my blog and my experience you’ll be able to find work from home typing jobs that’ll give you a little extra income or even a full time living. But don’t fall for the greedy hypey stuff, I’ve just found it not realistic.
